Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field, or equivalent experience is required.


Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Entry Level Nuclear Weapon Surety Network Implementation Engineer.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


Provides technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design
Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
Provides analysis for implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to network problems
Conducts testing of network systems
Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges and gateways, etc.
Coordinates third party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoots problems with department users and department network administrators
Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
Supports/assists in the design and planning of network systems

Has working knowledge and meets the basic requirements and expectations of the position
May be in the process of developing working knowledge, skills and capabilities to meet the position's full range of responsibilities
Solves problems of introductory-level scope and complexity by using established policies and procedures
Follows specific, detailed instructions
Works under close supervision
Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the section or group
Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on schedules and programs
Supports the project team in developing solutions and executing task-related activities


The Nuclear Weapon Surety Network Implementation Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or a related specialized area or the equivalent.
