Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science degree or Technology degree, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager.  Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Configuration and Asset Manager. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Managing various databases and providing feedback to both internal and external customers.
  • Prepare and present briefings to both internal and external customers
  • Creating slide presentations and supporting documentation
  • Creating meeting minutes.
  • Assist in monitoring and documenting the configuration of assets on the customer's network which includes bar coding, creating records in the customers asset management database, and tracking the location of all assets.
  • Create and maintain “as-built” diagrams of installed sites and when needed create conceptual diagrams for bids and proposals.
  • Gather information to support the customer’s configuration management program and senior leadership as needed.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining the customer's configuration management program
  • Provide both configuration management and data management support with some oversight and assistance from senior staff.
  • Review documentation, reports, specifications and drawings to ensure integrity of the documentation prior to release or change.

  • Analyze proposed changes in product design to determine effect on documents such as drawings, test specifications, manuals, and ensures all documents have required approvals
  • Compile release packages ensuring all documentation is present and accurate
  • Control changes to established master files of contractually required technical data
  • Notify appropriate departments of any new or updated data
  • Log, file and track all necessary drawings, documents, lists and various other items
  • Maintain audit trails, contributes to internal and external audits
  • Identify inconsistencies with design, production, material, or program office
  • Assign control numbers, and coordinates all approvals on documents, prior to delivery, so that documents can be tracked throughout the life of the contract
  • Provide clerical support in logging, filing and tracking items in the data management library
  • Perform Status Accounting audits and provides status accounting reports to management for collection of metrics
  • Coordinate with Contract Management on the preparation, approval and submittal of data requirements
  • Interface with Co-workers within the department
  • Moderate external contact
