Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

 


CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

 

 

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Trainer - (MVM) The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The Trainer will develop and provide training material to the carious users of an application responsible for linking data from various sources for presentation and discovery in order to produce mission value metrics. The trainer will produce a Getting Started training section, which should have a high-level video on “First Steps” and serve as an automated “Project Demo”.

•Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
•Exercises very strong judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
•Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
•Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills
•Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (team lead)
•May provide work direction to other employees
•Lacks authority to discipline or reward
•Domain expert in one or more areas for instruction
•Has completed a military or commercial instructor certification course, or equivalent
•Very strong ability to perform all responsibilities associated with the position
•Grasps and applies new information quickly
•Handles more complex assignments
•Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction
•Very strong knowledge of applicable subject matter and equipment assemblages being trained and of applicable laboratory training aids, interactive multi-media training technologies and other tools and devices used to conduct training
•Very strong knowledge of training processes: design, development, production, and documentation/control
•Very strong knowledge of applicable company policies and procedures
•Very strong understanding of business issues and company initiatives
•Very strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
•Very strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
•Ability to interact independently and without technical support with senior military personnel or government representatives in the analysis of complex technical information and interpret it into useable instructions for the intended audience
•Ability to independently install and maintain hardware and software associated with the assigned duties of the position
•Ability to use various software applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce training materials
•Ability to recognize learning problems and to address each appropriately
