Responsibilities for this Position

GDMS has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Manager (SCM).  The position is the Supply Chain Program Lead supporting ISS in Greensboro, NC

 

This position has the overall responsibility for Supply Chain performance, including the Program Supply Chain Execution and Actions and is responsible for resolving customer/business concerns on supplier performance. To obtain the desired business results requires a combination of strategic thinking, creativity and discipline within Supply Chain and the ability to focus solutions that meet the business needs.

 

In this position you will work with the Line of Business Directors and Program Managers to define and ensure execution of the supply chain efforts required to achieve the business goals.  The candidate will lead the development of team/partner relationships with vendors/suppliers and will maintain relationships with the suppliers.  The following are the duties and responsibilities of the role the following representative duties and tasks apply:

 

  • Lead the Supply Chain efforts supporting ISS and champion SCM initiatives and process improvements required to meet the business goals.

  • Support business and proposal activities, formulating, approving and implementing SCM strategies.
  • Lead the reviews of contractual/supply chain documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions and  ensures that the supplier will meet the business team objectives prior to signature / acceptance.
  • Establish requirements and monitoring measures for suppliers and monitor the suppliers’ performance, manage changes in scope changes, and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Mitigate Supply Chain Risks through direct engagement with staff and suppliers.

 

ADDITIONAL TASKS:  

  • Prepares and issues high complexity, value and risk purchase orders, contracts and agreements, and ensures all procurement actions which commit the company are properly documented, reviewed and approved consistent with policy and procedure and is able to identify potential risks in terms and conditions
  • Establishes requirements and monitoring measures for suppliers.
  • Monitor the suppliers' performance, manage changes in scope changes, and take appropriate corrective action as required.
  • Coordinates activities of other personnel to meet the business needs.

  • Ability to understand and utilizes the dynamics of power, organization, and decision making to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to plan supply chain activities, including planning cost, schedule and technical performance activities.
  • Ability to understand and adjust execution based on EVMS data .
  • Ability to clearly communicate across all organization levels and within the team.
  • Ability to influence and manage within the matrix organization and supplier community and make a positive impact on others actions, decisions, or points of view.
  • Ability to clearly define the business and supply chain objectives and develop a strategic action plan with each objective broken down into tasks and each task having a list of needed resources and a specific timeline.
  • Ability to leverage the strength of the business and supply chain team to accomplish the goals and achieve the desired results.  Demonstrated ability to motivate team to accomplish the required goals.
  • Ability to develop negotiation strategies for and lead the negotiation of contracts and subcontracts that meet or exceed the business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high risk supplier engagements and the ability to recognize and mitigate risks within the supplier base. 
  • Ability to investigate and correct supply chain interruptions and quality issues.
  • Expert decision making skills with prudent judgment and creativity.
  • Expert knowledge of applicable law/regulations and their application within Supply Chain and DOD procurement.



CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within 24 months of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
