Basic Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.


Clearance Requirements:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Business Function Specialist and Administrator for the CEWS engineering organization. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. The position is responsible for providing administrative and business support to the Senior Engineering Director as well as engineering groups and technical staff at our Dedham, MA facility. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



  • Provides administrative assistance in a staff capacity to management by coordinating such activities as personnel placement, budget preparation and control, workflow procedures, compensation matters, and training programs
  • Represents organizational unit on administrative matters
  • Recommends, interprets, and/or implements company and internal administrative policies and procedures
  • Performs as a generalist a combination of administrative tasks in such functional areas as finance, human resources, purchasing, research and development
  • May prepare budgeting, project scheduling, and statistical reports as required 
  • Performs detailed administrative, office management, financial and analytical activities for a function, department, program, or organization
  • Prepares, processes, monitors and updates required reports and documents including budgets, schedules, purchase requests and forms
  • Prepares, develops and updates charts and graphics for presentation
  • Coordinates small projects to support the organization
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems
  • Participates in determining objectives of assignment
  • Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives
  • Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects
  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations
  • May serve as liaison for administrative tasks with other functions such as Facilities, Security, IT and HR
  • Works with the facility department on their Move Manager system to track and move employees within the Dedham facility
  • Assists security with visits and escorting uncleared personnel
  • Coordinates Engineering Director calendar across multiple facilities and activities, scheduling, coordinating and deconflicting important events and activities
  • May be subject-matter expert on the use of one or more business-related tools such as company's time-reporting, training or expense reporting system
  • Responsible for ordering materials, equipment and supplies using credit cards and purchase orders in support of multiple projects. Tracks purchases and reconciles accounts monthly
  • Books travel for engineers, staff and directors along with reconciling expense reports using the Concur system
