Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Bluefin Robotics is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the development and manufacture of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). Candidates should have experience in the design, development, integration and test of electronics and electrical systems for subsea applications.  Junior or Senior level candidates will be considered.


Responsibilities include:

  • System level electrical design
  • Integration and test of electronic systems, boards and COTS equipment
  • Detailed design of analog and digital circuits
  • Design of mixed signal printed circuit board assemblies  
  • Generation of design and development documentation 
  • Working with mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to develop and produce 
  • Hands on electrical integration, test, and debugging

Experience and Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Familiar with the design of controllers, embedded processors, firmware and printed circuit board-level layout. Familiarity with electro-mechanical integration of motors and motor controllers, actuators, and power supplies
  • Experience with the design of analog and digital circuits; familiarity with grounding, shielding, and noise reduction techniques
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and Design to Cost (DTC) methodologies and practices
  • Capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense Security Clearance, and willing to do so if requested

Position and Location:

  • This is a full-time position located in Quincy, Massachusetts.
