General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Assembler to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to work with the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design, develop and manage a variety of equipment and systems solutions for General Dynamics Mission Systems and its clients. Assemble and inspect complex, high reliability Electro-Mechanical-Optical products from various forms of documentation (pictorial work instructions, travelers, drawings, etc). Apply mechanical aptitude with attention to detail to achieve quality and productivity objectives.
Work with other team members to eliminate manufacturing defects, material scrap, and process inefficiencies.
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment that may include wearing personal protective equipment (such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, respirator, etc), working with/near and disposal of hazardous material, and recurring lifting (50-75 pounds), standing, bending, squatting, pulling, and pushing.
Performing complex assembly and inspection operations using manual and computerized machines and tools. Work from various forms of documentation (engineering drawings, pictorial shop aids, etc) to assemble and inspect high reliability Electro-Mechanical-Optical products. Work with other team members to eliminate manufacturing defects and process inefficiencies by participating in quality huddles, training, and process improvement teams.
