Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.


Due to the nature of work performed at our facilities, US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift Supervisor.  The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



  • Member of operations team related to business/functional area, project or strategic activities
  • Leads a group of team members within a formal management structure
  • Manages overall task according to business/project requirements, policies and procedures
  • Works with other team members to establish measurements, monitor performance, establish processes and procedures
  • Must be able to plan and track schedules, financial/budget data, and staffing requirements for Tactical production
  • Performs analysis of work flow/load balancing and take appropriate action
  • Effectively resolves conflict of personnel within team per company policies
  • Supports employee development and performance management of employees
  • Hire personnel to meet staffing demand, perform Quarterly Check Ins, and execute compensation planning
  • May be responsible for a functional process area(s)
  • Grow and develop new personnel in culture of excellence
  • Instill and sustain attitude of teamwork within the team and with the larger team
  • Take ownership and assume accountability on assigned tasks
  • Sustain communications with senior members of internal team
  • Ability to lead RCCA improvement across manufacturing functional areas
  • Attend 2nd shift stand ups and insure smooth transition between shifts


  • Demonstrates planning and execution skills in support of Tactical Production Operations
  • Demonstrates a high degree of skills and innovation in resolving business or project related issues to effect continuous improvement
  • Demonstrates use of influence skills to meet objectives of production team
  • Ability to adjust individual and team activities to changing conditions
  • Understanding of team roles and responsibilities
  • Proficient ability to develop and analyze schedule and critical paths
  • Understanding of business environment and how team or projects support division/company goals
  • Proficient skills in budgeting, planning, problem solving and cost analysis
  • Understanding of manufacturing technology and tools and their impact on efficiency, cost and quality
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written), in a culturally diverse and cross functional environment
  • Ability to create a work environment that inspires personnel to achieve optimal results
