Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical and Software Engineering, or a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for an Systems Test Engineer.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


The Systems Test Engineer will work with the large scale systems design and manufacturing teams to ensure all Acceptance Test; Requirements, Processes and Procedures are in place in Contractual and Security Requirements. In addition, the Systems Test Engineer will perform troubleshooting and root cause corrective action of both internally designed and procured boards, modules and units.


The successful candidate must have knowledge and practical experience with:

  • Computer Networks
  • Security Policies and Procedures
  • System Test Engineering Concepts
  • Shop Floor Control/Execution Systems
  • Test Plans/Procedures Creation, Modification and Release
  • Configuration Management Systems
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action Processes
  • Continuous Improvement  ( ie reduction of Test Times )

The following skills and experiences are highly desired:

  • Test Automation Concepts and Tools
  • Requirements analysis (decomposition of system requirements to lower levels)
  • Ability to Create/Maintain and act on Test metrics
  • Understanding of network architectures and network communication protocols
  • Planning of technical approaches, resources, schedule, budget and equipment requirements
  • Creation and Submission of Test CDRLs ( Contract Data Requirements List )
  • Leadership and Mentoring of individuals or small teams



Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is REQUIRED at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
