Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science degree or Technology degree, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Advanced Hardware Engineer.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources
Consistently demonstrates proficiency in the application of RF and Digital Technical competence
Establishes work methodology and sequence to gather and organize data for review with appropriate engineer(s) in support of project
Evaluates and recommends options for tasks within assigned project activities
Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, and work requirements
Gathers and organizes data for review with appropriate engineer(s) in support of project
Maintains records, compiles reports, graphs, charts and related data in support of projects
Makes recommendations and coordinates and identifies resources required to meet defined project requirements 
Participates in discussions related to the identification of cause of problems/issues in the defined task or project assignment
Participates in the tactical planning for completion of identified project segment
Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems
Performs technical activities which impact the proposal, system level design, detail design and manufacture of advanced electronics systems
Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs
Regular communication with internal customers and external customers/vendors
Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters
Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields
Utilizes defined resources to meet project requirements

A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of RF and Digital circuits and operations

Familiar with Hi-Rel hardware testing and handling requirements

Able to lead test teams throughout the integration and test cycles
Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills
Demonstrate a proficient degree of skill and innovation in resolving issues within defined area of responsibility

Ability to adjust to the demands of program test staffing needs
Demonstrates proficient judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems


TS/SCI is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
