Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Manaement or Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.

We have an immediate opening for in our Supply Chain organization for a Senior Supply Chain Specialist in our Operational Commodity team, to be the interface for our program teams to the industrial base that provide the technology and core components to meet our customer’s needs.

As a Senior Supply Chain Specialist , you will work with the program within the six lines of business of GDMS to identify:

    • Risk Suppliers within the commodity
    • Risk Awards within the commodity
    • Supplier Cost/Schedule/Technical issues and trade space

and develop/implement strategies within supply chain and the cross functional team to mitigate the risks and deliver the commodity and services to the programs. In addition, on top business pursuits you will work with the proposal team to develop the supply chain strategies that enable GDMS to compete and win, as well as have a supply chain execution strategy that mitigates the supplier risks, and produces the desired business results.

 

This position will directly support the Operational Commodity Lead and will support special assignments such as: 

  • Managing complex awards that have high risks in the development/execution where cost/schedule/technical performance must be traded
  • Developing/implementing/updating supplier metrics and score cards
  • Determining root cause implement corrective action as required
  • Training and mentoring staff in areas such as compliance, negotiation strategies, analysis to determine “fair and reasonable” pricing, etc
  • Championing process improvements with the cross-functional team and suppliers improve the design for manufacturing and the first yield rate of the suppliers

    • Active Attenuators, Adhesives, Asset Tools, Bandpass filters, Chemicals, Lubricants & Grease, Chillers, Compressors and Vacuum Pumps, Controls, Converters (RF) - Up and Down, Electron tubes, Explosive Devices, Fan & Fan Assemblies, Furniture - Lab, Generating parts, Generators, Inspection Gages, Inverters, Isolators - RF, Jacks, Limiter - RF, Manufacturing & Machine Tools, Manufacturing Equipment & Machines, Material Handling Equipment, Motors, MRO, Optical Instruments, Oscillators (Crystal), Packaging & Packaging Supplies, Paint, Pallets, Crates & lumber, Power Amplifiers RF (Not component level), Radar Eq., Radio & Communication Eq., Refrigeration - Cooling & Heating, RF Assemblies, RF Circulators, RF Filters, RF Mixers, RF Switches, Sensors, Shelters, Shop Floor Supplies & Consumables, Sonars, Standard Package Supplies, Tape, TCXO, Tents, Test Equipment and Calibration, TLNB, Trailers, TWTA, VCO's, Vehicles, Waveguide

The successful candidate shall have a demonstrated knowledge of a majority of these components and an in-depth knowledge of the industry base.
