Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science or Technology degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.



  • Candidate must be able to prepare, analyze, and present a variety of security reports/metrics to senior management as required and or on demand
  • Candidate must be able to assist customer and or staff with technical issues. Applicant must have knowledge of government IT security requirements and processes
  • Hands-on UNIX OS experience is essential. Applicant must have excellent oral/written communication skills
  • The successful applicant must have previous experience in testing, evaluating, and preparing systems for security certification under ICD 503, NIST 800-53, and DCID 6/3 and must possess a constant understanding and awareness of IT security requirements especially in regards to DoD, IC, and organizational security mandates, policies and regulations
  • Must be able to travel 20% of the time
  • Must meet DoDD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAM-III; prefer a CND certification


This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an IT Security Engineering Manager. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.The selected candidate will be responsible for the coordination, application, implementation, and execution of Computer Network Defense Services, IA policy, Assessment and Authorization, audits, mitigation recommendations, etc…



  • Provide security administration and management for the organization.
  • Provide personnel management for the organization
  • Ensure adequate secure storage and work spaces.
  • When required, conduct an annual inventory of accountable classified material.
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with all team members and across all teams

Additionally, the selected candidate will be responsible to manage all aspect of IT security functions to include:

  • Develop and ensure compliance of security policy and processes
  • Manage all aspects of system audits to include review, analysis, reporting, in-depth analysis
  • Oversee the accounts management system and processes
  • Act as point person for incident reporting
  • Manage and maintain a IT Security staff training program for all privileged users
  • Oversee and coordinate Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities across multiple WANs
  • Oversee IT security operations and metrics reporting of a UNIX based enterprise multi-level system.
  • Oversee the development of security tool requirements, trials, and evaluations, as well as security operation procedures and processes
  • Provide off-hours support on an infrequent, but as needed basis
