  • Basic Qualifications

    Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

     

    Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense SECRET security clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

     

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Entry-Level Test Technician to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ location.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

     

    Entry-Level Test Technician

     

    Responsibilities: The Entry-Level Test Technician will primarily perform hardware integration and test of highly complex, highly-reliable spaceflight payload electronics. This technician will also perform alignment, testing, and problem troubleshooting of Digital and/or RF modules. Tasks would include reading and following test procedures to test space flight product. 

     

    Basic Qualifications: Prefer recent experience working with electronic hardware. Qualifications include:

    • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Windows and MS Office
    • Ability to interpret diagrams and schematics and the necessary interfaces
    • Ability to interface daily with engineering and may be tasked to run special tests for engineering
    • Candidate should demonstrate skills and initiative to complete actions as assigned
    • Able to manage time effectively in order to support multiple projects throughout the work day
    • Must be able to work successfully with associates in other departments and understand cross-functional relationships

     

    Required Key Skills and Abilities: 

    • Background in basic electronics and test techniques.
    • Knowledgeable use of test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators and digital multi-meters is required
    • Candidate must be able to read and follow detailed work instructions and/or test procedures
    • Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule which may include 2nd and 3rd shift support
    • Has a solid understanding of the job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks
    • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations 
    • Focus is on completing tasks or activities supporting implementation of procedures
      Receives instruction on daily work with general instructions on newly introduced assignments
