High School diploma or the equivalent is required. Associates degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical engineering is preferred. In addition, a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience is required.
J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required
GDMS has an immediate opening for a Senior Quality Inspector. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
-Inspects parts, materials, assemblies and equipment to determine compliance to specified requirements
-Performs product inspection
-Performs real time defect evaluation
-Prepares QA documentation
-Verifies corrective action implementation
-Performs housekeeping audits
-Verifies implementation of rework
-Generates and/or verifies traceability information
-May uses photography equipment
-May sets-up for electrical/mechanical tests using simple equipment
-Interfaces with coworkers and internal customers and other departments
-May have occasional contact with suppliers
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-Considerable knowledge of electrical theory
-Considerable knowledge of ESD control
-Considerable knowledge of workmanship standards
-Considerable knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
-Considerable knowledge of statistics and process control techniques
-Considerable knowledge of operation of automated test equipment
-Skilled in using PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel)
-Skilled in use of basic mechanical measurement tools
-Interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills
-Skilled in the set-up of basic electronic test configurations or mechanical test configurations
