Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Logistics or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
GDMS has an immediate opening for a Senior Material Planning Professional. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
-Manages all aspects of production and material support on multiple programs, or one large, very complex program
-May identify costs and bidding/estimating strategies ensuring all cost/schedule risks are clearly identified and understood by management
-May assist in detailed proposal analysis with proposal management team
-May routinely interface with supply chain and suppliers on primary strategies for negotiation and/or problem resolution
-Develops implementation plans to support department goals and budgets
-Provides representation and participation for monthly operations reviews
-Schedules and develops employee development plans
-Subject matter expert in all aspects of planning and control
-Performs special projects as requested
-Mentors junior employees
-Conducts performance appraisals

-Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
-Excellent ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

-Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
-Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (team lead)

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable amount of time. Is not required at time of hire.
