    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Leasing Supervisor to lead our leasing program which supports all leasing activities for the organization.  The program includes all end user devices, network infrastructure, copiers, and vehicles in support of both indirect and direct initiatives.   This supervisor is responsible for the full life cycle from acquisition to disposal. 


    In performing in this role, the supervisor interacts with both internal points of contact and external points of contact.  Internal points of contacts range from individual employees, accounting/finance, IT, and property management as well as program management leadership.   External points of contact will include a range of leasing and finance companies and large equipment manufacturers such as Dell, HP, and Cisco.


    This individual serves as the Subject Matter Expert for all leasing issues, (with the exception of real estate)  in support of the FASB Lease Accounting compliance project  which is a high visibility project in support of corporate headquarters.


    This position has the overall responsibility for Supply Chain performance, in support of leasing activities including Execution and Actions and is responsible for resolving customer/business concerns on supplier performance. To obtain the desired business results requires a combination of strategic thinking, creativity and discipline within Supply Chain and the ability to focus solutions that meet the business needs.

    The candidate will lead the development of team/partner relationships with vendors/suppliers and will maintain relationships with the suppliers.  The following are the duties and responsibilities of the role the following representative duties and tasks apply:




    • Lead the Leasing program for all leasing activities with the exception of real estate.
    • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert for the FASB Lease Accounting Compliance  project.
    • Manages the team responsible for a high volume of ordering and lease return activities.
    • Partner closely with internal requestors and IT
    • Coordinates purchasing activities with internal partners to acquire products and services in a cost effective and timely manner
    • Performs price or cost analysis for materials, components, equipment and services
    • Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned procurements to negotiate highest quality at best value
    • Develops new supply sources where suppliers are no longer competitive
    • Recommends cost saving proposals or alternative sources
    • Interacts with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues
    • Works with management to address all aspects of supply chain management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability
    • Lead the reviews of contractual/supply chain lease documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions and  ensures that the supplier will meet the business team objectives prior to signature / acceptance.
    • Establish requirements and monitoring measures for suppliers and monitor the suppliers’ performance, manage changes in scope changes, and take appropriate corrective action.
    • Builds productive internal/external working relationships
    • Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules

    • Is a champion within Supply Chain and often leads process changes that support improvement within the organization
    • Develops baseline plans, key performance indicators, and metrics for the assigned efforts/projects
    • In support of programs/proposals develops/implements strategies that enables the business success and meets/exceeds the customer's expectations
    • Accountable for the supplier's performance in meeting the business needs and leading the supply chain effort
    • As required, supports audits and develops easy to follow documentation for the auditors that enables a favorable outcome for General Dynamics
    • Establishes negotiation strategies and negotiates the cost, schedule, and deliverables of the critical suppliers' commodities, or services, or subcontracts that meet the business needs
    • Summarizes and reports to the management team the status and progress to the plan


    • Experience with equipment leasing
    • Experience buying computer hardware and software
    • Experience in a Government contracting environment
    • Skilled at developing and keeping competition and alternate solutions for the business that provides the best value
    • Ability to summarize issues and present to senior management
    • Has a fully proficient understanding of the business and customer's needs and develops relationships with the business team
    • Exercises excellent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
    • Responsibilities require advanced decision-making skills including the development, communication and enforcement of company policies and procedures for purchasing
    • Ability to synthesize the business needs into supply chain strategies that leverage the innovation of the suppliers to produce compelling wining solutions for our customers
    • Ability to develop crisp evaluation criteria and lead the evaluation team
    • Understanding of  applicable contractual flow downs, General Dynamic's policies/procedures, federal, state, and local laws, and the ability to apply them in the procurements of commodities, or services, or subcontracts
    • Ability to lead reviews with the suppliers and drill down to the root cause of the issues
    • Ability to develop and track corrective action to resolve the issues
    • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
