Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance is required or business equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.



Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced Compliance Specialist (SOX).  The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



  • Facilitates the mapping of corporate risks to controls that govern the risks
  • Helps manage Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audits
  • Autonomously plans audit work, manages fieldwork testing, gathering audit artifacts. Ensures that audit artifacts meet control objectives. Reports audit results and recommends process improvements to management
  • Supports entrance and exit conferences for audits
  • Assists with updating desk manuals, policies, and procedures to improve internal controls and compliance systems
  • Assists with the technical infrastructure needed to manage control execution and efficiency.


  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Knowledge of auditing principles, theory, techniques
  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Creative problem solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technically excellent in Excel and SharePoint
  • Ability to interpret policy and analyze data
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills


  • Sarbanes-Oxley Audit Experience
