Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems and 5 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience is required.


Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Applicants must meet DoD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher
  • Candidates must be able to travel up to 25% of the time

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Information Systems Security Officer (LINUX).  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



  • Maintain/create security policy materials and provide required new site support policy training
  • Conduct system IAVM analysis
  • Develop Splunk queries as required for security analysis and monitoring activities
  • Conduct on-going IA analysis
  • Perform independent verification of site operational scripts
  • Conduct reviews of cross domain security site standard operating procedures and engineering documentation
  • Conduct site support activities such as audits, training, JVAP support, etc.
  • Use command-line level activities to configure, troubleshoot, analyze and navigate system level actions
  • Enforce enterprise level established security policies
  • Participate, as required, in accreditation activities
  • Create insider threat reports showing statistical privileged use data
  • Generate incident reporting documentation
  • Perform systems administration functions as required during staffing impacts


  • Hands on experience with command line UNIX/LINUX security audits
  • Experience working with DoD classified IT system security configuration and processes
  • Working technical knowledge of UNIX/LINUX operating systems commands and utilities
  • Experience in government IT security standards, policies and directives
  • Experience conducting forensic analysis on audit log data for security incidents
  • Proficiency in UNIX/LINUX audit analysis
  • Certification and Accreditation background
  • Hands on SIEM application (Splunk, EPO, etc.) experience a plus
  • Help desk experience a plus
  • Leadership experience a plus
