Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Management or Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Logistics Analyst.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



  • Provides ILS input to project/program plans and deliverables 
  • Defines, reviews and analyzes system requirements for enhancements/modifications for supportability 
  • Manages members of the ILS staff in support of projects/programs 
  • Supports other disciplines for program/project resolutions/enhancements 
  • Mentors junior ILS members in technical and interpersonal skills as required 
  • Leads the ILS review, development and modification of procedures and products for one or more project/programs 
  • Provides ILS functional area inputs (technical and cost) to proposals 
  • Key participant in the selection and development of employees 
  • Key participant in the review/development/modification of products and procedures for one or ILS functional areas on one or more projects 
  • Collaborates with other IPTs to define, review and test system requirements for enhancements/modifications 
  • Leads internal audits and development and review of corrective action plans 
  • Performs as the overall ILS Lead on process improvement teams and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) 
  • Directs workflow to meet program and customer delivery requirements 
  • Develops ILS inputs for supplier requirements and Statement of Work 
  • Assists in creating and modifying internal/external procedures and policies 
  • Participates in requirements negotiations with suppliers 
  • Develops ILS technical and cost inputs to proposals 
  • Performs Cost Account management (CAM) tasks for projecting and controlling budgets
  • Internal and External customer/government and suppliers
  • Within and between IPTs

  • Accomplishes Defense Acquisition University (DAU) courses
  • Reports to an ILS Manager
  • Designs, develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life
  • Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's life-cycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line

  • Possesses strong expertise in six or more of the ILS elements

  • •Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  • •Highly proficient knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements: Supply Support, Maintenance Planning, Manpower and Personnel, Technical Data, Training and Training Equipment 
  • •Highly proficient knowledge of military/commercial requirements/ specifications applicable to functional area expertise 
  • •Knowledge, understanding and use of internal/external procedures and policies
  • •Conflict management skills
  • •Highly proficient knowledge of the acquisition logistics process
  • •Ability to coordinate other disciplines for program/project resolutions/enhancements
  • •Proficient in various ILS software applications
  • •Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • •Highly proficient knowledge of WBS, IMP/IMS, EVMS
  • Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing highly proficient knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
