General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Planner. The Manufacturing Planner is a production control planner and the focal point for manufacturing delivery performance for specific process areas in a high mix, low volume product factory environment. The successful candidate will manage the documentation, materials, and work order priorities to ensure schedules are achieved within the factory. The planner must track and manage daily manufacturing progress, and provide regular reporting on manufacturing status. This position works closely with purchasing, production and shipping/receiving working to resolve issues that may delay completion
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Perform work order release and management
Perform inventory analysis
Management and communication of critical parts
Maintain ERP/ MRP data integrity
Execute cut-in of Engineering Change Notices to work in process
Be an integral member of production teams
Maintain visual management boards
Identify constraints and elevate as required for resolution
Present schedule status for factory management
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to problem solve utilizing analytical skills
Ability to multi-task while maintaining focus on details
Ability to prioritize program material needs with supply chain and internal shops as appropriate
Must be able be able to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
Must be a self-starter who can lead multiple on-going tasks through to completion
Must demonstrate problem solving skills
Must demonstrate strong organizational skills
Must have strong written and oral communication skills to support interacting frequently with production staff and management
MS Excel skills are required.
PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:
In-depth understanding of MRP/ERP principles
Ability to understand engineering changes and their effect on the bill of material
Ability to understand, research and reconcile material issues as job requires
