  • Basic Qualifications

    High School diploma or the equivalent is required. Associates degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical engineering is preferred. In addition, a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience is required.


    J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required

     

     

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, a division of General Dynamics Mission Systems, operates a satellite communication equipment design and manufacturing facility in State College, Pennsylvania.  The State College facility is an energetic and dynamic organization dedicated to building the highest reliability uplink and downlink equipment in the satellite industry.  With a long history of innovation and a global customer base, the State College facility continues to expand its product offerings and increase its market share around the world.  As SATCOM Technologies grows, we continually seek motivated and talented employees to join the team.

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    Inspects parts, materials, assemblies and equipment to determine compliance to specified requirements

    Performs product inspection

    Performs real time defect evaluation

    Prepares QA documentation

    Verifies corrective action implementation

    Performs housekeeping audits

    Verifies implementation of rework

    Generates and/or verifies traceability information

    May uses photography equipment

    May sets-up for electrical/mechanical tests using simple equipment

    Interfaces with coworkers and internal customers and other departments

    May have occasional contact with suppliers



    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Considerable knowledge of electrical theory

    Considerable knowledge of ESD control

    Considerable knowledge of workmanship standards (IPC-610, IPC-620,*J-STD-001)

    Considerable knowledge of geometric dimensioning and*tolerances

    Considerable knowledge of statistics and process control techniques

    Considerable knowledge of operation of automated test equipment

    Skilled in using PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel)

    Skilled in use of basic mechanical measurement tools

    Interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills
