Software Engineer (TS Required)

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

Due to the nature of our work at our facilities, U.S. Citizenship is required. A U.S. Government Top Secret clearance is required at time of hire.

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an exciting opportunity in our brand new Dedham, MA facility. We are seeking a Software Engineer to assist with our ICBM Prime Integration Contract (IPIC) / Minuteman Minimum Essential Emergency Communications Network Program Upgrade (MMPU). The ideal candidate will possess 5 plus years of experience in designing, coding, and testing of the Higher Authority Communications/Rapid Message Processing Element (HAC/RMPE) system. This person will participate in studies, design analyses, investigations.

Individual responsibilities include:

• Participation in generating prototype/demo scripts
• Generating tests and conducting peer reviews
• Support documentation updates and proposals
• Support programming and erasing EPROMs
• Health check of incoming drawers
• Support the team in meeting our Quantitative Management Goal by following process and generating improvements to the
• process
• Ability to work on multiple on-going programs
• Possess strong analytical, troubleshooting, reasoning and communication skills
• Provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems
• Independently determines approach to solutions
• Avoid failure to accomplish results or errors that may cause significant delays or require the substantial expenditure of resources

Related engineering experience in or familiarity with one or more of the following is desirable:

• Knowledge/experience in OS9, VAX/VMS, VAXELN, VMS Tools, Ada, Java, C, 8086 Assembly, and Access Data Database
• Clearcase; Mil-STD 2167A processes
• Test tools such as HP Protocol Analyzers and Processor emulator
• Systems administration experience

If individual does not possess software programming experience in Ada, GDMS is willing to train!
