User Experience Research Intern (Paid)

Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a design research-related field such as Interaction Design, Psychology, Human Factors or a related field with at least 2 years completed in program major. Graduate students pursuing an advanced degree in one of these fields are encouraged to apply. 

Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has a challenging and rewarding position in our User Experience (UX) organization. We are seeking a User Experience Research Intern (Paid) for the 2017 spring/summer season. As a User Experience Research Intern (Paid) in the UX department, you will collaborate on various design projects from concept to completion, leveraging expertise in user research, concept development, wireframing, and rapid prototyping. 

Among the opportunities you will have as a User Experience Research Intern (Paid):

• Assists in the development of individual product/system components, and provides context for their interaction
• Creates, evaluates, and modifies prototypes, operational scenarios, and process maps to support 2D and 3D user interface development
• Develops user personas, with emphasis on operational context, interaction, physical manipulation, and task analysis
• May contribute to development of project/product design concepts and implementation, providing context on usability considerations
• Develops and applies usability and interaction design principles in the investigation of technical problems
• Produces specifications describing product/system requirements, based on user input and operational analysis
