    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Program Quality Engineer to join our team.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



    • Provide technical review of documents, drawings, assembly instructions, and project plans
    • Compare defects against standards and recommends dispositions
    • Verify implementation of rework
    • Collect, organize and analyze project data
    • Generate and/or review metrics
    • Perform audits, assign corrective action and verify implementation
    • Participate in project reviews and meetings including technical design reviews, technical peer reviews, change control boards
    • Participate in continuous improvement and problem solving activities within the project
    • Review software, documents/Drawings/Instructions for conformance to requirements
    • Witness and/or monitor system integration test activities. Provide witness and acceptance to formal Factory Acceptance Test w/ Customer
    • Contribute to the completion of major programs and projects
    • Contribute to the achievement of business objectives
    • Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
    • Ability to clearly report relevant to sound quality engineering processes
    • Able to sell concepts and ideas
    • Skill in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally
    • Knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques
    • Computer skills, both desktop software and required ERP and Document Control tools
    • Regular contact with senior levels of internal work groups
    • Contact with project leaders and other professionals within Engineering and Program support groups, and with project teams across the company
    • Able to work and collaborate across multiple locations within the US
    • Work closely with Suppliers to resolve procurement non-comformances




    • Full knowledge of domain (hardware, software, systems, logistics)
    • Knowledge of AS-9100, ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, IPC and J-STD
    • IPC-610 & 620 Inspection Certified
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Ability to think creatively
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Effective interpersonal skills
    • Works under limited direction


    Bachelor’s degree in systems, software, computer or industrial engineering, a related field, or the equivalent experience is required. In addition, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required. IPC Inspection Training / Certification.

    Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
