    Responsibilities for this Position

    GDMS has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Manager.  The position is a Supply Chain Programs Lead for the Airborn Systems business segment with emphasis on the material operations in Bloomington, MN.  This position has the overall responsibility for Supply Chain Management performance for Program Supply Chain Material and Complex Procurement needs and is responsible for resolving customer/business concerns related to supplier performance. The Supply Chain Procurement Manager role requires a combination of strategic thinking, creativity and discipline within Supply Chain and the ability to develop solutions that meet specfic business needs.  In addition, the position leads the development of team/partner relationships with vendors/suppliers and will maintain relationships with the supply base.  The following are the duties and responsibilities of the role:

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    Lead the Supply Chain Material and Complex Procurement efforts supporting assigned Airborne Systems programs and champion Supply Chain initiatives and process improvements required to meet business objectives

    • Engage in business and proposal activities driving the formulation, approval and implementation of Supply Chain strategies
    • Lead the review of contractual/supply chain documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions to ensure that the supplier will meet the business team objectives prior to signature / acceptance
    • Establish requirements and performance measures for suppliers and manage performance,  scope change, and corrective action efforts in execution
    • Mitigate Supply Chain Risks through direct engagement with cross functional program team members and suppliers

     

    ADDITIONAL TASKS:

    •  Facilitate high complexity, value and risk purchase orders, contracts and agreements, and ensures all procurement actions which commit the company are properly documented, reviewed and approved consistent with policy and procedures.
    • Coordinate the scheduling, planning and coordination of program material needs as well as tracking and expediting through receipt

     

     

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    •  Clearly communicate across all organizational levels and within the team
    • Influence and manage within the matrix organization and supplier community and make a positive impact on others actions, decisions, or points of view
    • Define the business and supply chain objectives and develop a strategic action plan with each objective broken down into tasks and each task having a list of needed resources and a specific timeline
    • Leverage the strength of the business and supply chain team to accomplish the goals and achieve the desired results
    • Develop negotiation strategies for and lead the negotiation of contracts and subcontracts that meet or exceed the business needs
    • Manage high risk supplier engagements and the ability to recognize and mitigate risks within the supplier base
    • Research and resolve supply chain interruptions and quality issues
    • Exhibit strong decision making skills with prudent judgment and creativity
    • Demonstrate knowledge of applicable law/regulations and their application within Supply Chain and Department of Defense procurements including FARS/DFARS
