    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

    Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is REQUIRED at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

     

     

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Architect to join our team. The selected candidate will collaborate with customers to deliver innovative, end-to-end multi-platform solutions that will be used in terrestrial based tip-of-the-spear SIGINT collection and Electronic Warfare (EW) operational environments. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports our nation’s fundamental defense services.     REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    Provide system level architecture and technical leadership for the development of a Department of Defense (DoD) Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) system solution.

    • CONOPS and Operational Use Cases
    • Generation of White Papers supporting new business pursuits
    • Direct customer interface and support
    • New business pursuits including authoring and contributing to basis of estimate and technical volumes
    • Ability to express complex technical topics in accurate and relevant terms for a variety of audiences (technical and non-technical)
    • Ability to conceptualize large system solutions and bring them to fruition

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES         

    This position requires systems architecture expertise in the definition and development of terrestrial based Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Electronic Warfare (EW) system solutions. SIGINT/EW industry recognized leader with an awareness of current and evolving communication technologies, plus familiarity with military focused concepts of operation (CONOPS). Strong candidates will have experience with designing SIGINT collection sensors, RF designs such as tuners, transceivers, power amplifiers, etc. A detailed understanding of Electronic Warfare (EW) concepts and solutions for the use of terrestrial based directed electromagnetic energy. A plus is experience with offensive and defensive cyber operations, as well as direction finding techniques and concepts.

     

    • Terrestrial based SIGINT architecture with sensor design experience used for signals collection
    • Terrestrial based Electronic Warfare architectural solutions and capabilities
    • Understanding of Terrestrial based Cyberspace operations
    • Operational understanding of the US Army Field Manual 3-38
    • RF Collection and Digital Processing products
    • Deriving RF requirements and allocation to functional areas that comprise a system architecture
    • Direction Finding (DF) Processing techniques and implementation strategies
    • Experience with RF high power amplifiers, up/down converters, tuners, receivers and transmitters
    • RF Distribution and Signal Conditioning (e.g. band and notch filtering, co-channel interference cancellation, rejection, etc.).
    • Knowledge of advanced antenna technologies and performance with the ability to model antenna impacts on received and transmitted signals.
    • Experience with system architecture best practices
