  • Basic Qualifications

    Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

     

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
    Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Electronic Warfare Technician.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    • Participate in the design, development, and integration of Electronic Warfare (EW) related software.
    • Responsibilities also include support of design, modifications, and corrections to existing software and training content.
    • Responsible for working with software and systems engineers to develop EW system and training solutions.
    • Participate in a team environment to design, develop, enhance, and execute EW solutions, including providing full life cycle support (requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and training).
    • Support verification & validation, regression testing, formal test events, and concept/feasibility studies.
    • Support capture requirements, technical concepts, and user information.
    • Deliver presentations to peers and customers internal and external to General Dynamics Mission Systems
    • Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other departments, and/or representing outside organizations
    • Performs a variety of equipment/process operations involving an application or technical skills in a specific area (electrical, software, manufacturing, etc.) 
    • Interprets basic engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics
    • Constructs, modifies, debugs, troubleshoots, calibrates, tests and adjusts a variety of tools, equipment and systems
    • Organizes, analyzes and interprets data to identify cause/effect relationships and recommends resolution/process improvement
    • Implements and documents complex solutions for process improvement
    • Perform complex troubleshooting to the component level
    • Works with Engineering and Operations Support
    • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions
    • Handles unexpected demands and adapts to new situations
    • Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment
    • Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions
    • Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment
    • Uses manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus
    • Analyzes results and implements procedures for problems
    • May develop test specifications and procedures
    • May prepare reports, documentation/specifications as required 


    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Has a solid understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
    • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
    • May require decision-making but with limited financial implications to the company
    • Focus is on completing tasks or activities supporting implementation of procedures
    • Normally receives little instruction on daily work with only general instructions on newly introduced assignments
    • May provide direction to other employees with similar duties
    • Shows initiative in job assignment
    • Solid knowledge of generally accepted technical theory
    • Solid knowledge and proficiency in the use of fabrication tools 
    • Ability to fabricate complex hardware
    • Ability to use computers and software applications to assist in job execution
    • Influential with others and demonstrates superior communication and collaborative skills consistent with expectations for position




    PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:

    6 years of Surface Cryptologic Technician (CTT) experience, preferably AN/SLQ-32(V)6 experience  

    Instructor experience

    Curriculum development experience
