  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's of Science or Technology degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.

     

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

     

    Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Engineering Technical Supervisor.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    Responsibilities include performance management, project management, career development, and program resource assignments. In addition, the Engineering Technical Supervisor will be involved in process improvement and other Engineering department initiatives.

     

    Responsibilities may include the following: 

    • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
    • Leads development of strategic tasks or small projects by applying engineering and organizational knowledge and expertise to achieve technical goals
    • Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering tasks or small projects within area of assigned responsibility
    • Participates in the proposal process
    • Participates in continuous process improvement efforts
    • Provides technical leadership and/or direction to employees

       

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Candidates must show a passion for innovation, an experienced understanding of systems and software engineering applications, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems software and systems solutions.

     

    The successful candidate must:

    • Exemplify excellent analytical and risk management skills and demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication skills, and an interest in advancing the business and their careers
    • Have strong experience in Software / Systems engineering

    PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES:

     

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software, Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
