Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business or related field is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
The ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. An active Secret clearance at time of hire is desired. General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) Product Manager. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The CDS Product Manager has responsibilities to manage the existing Tactical Cross Domain Solutions (TACDS) product line and all future derivative products from concept, to design, sample production, testing, forecast, cost, mass production, promotion, support, and finally product end of life. The CDS Product Manager delivers the operating plan: achievement of growth objectives as determined by the Platform Security Products (PSP) strategic plan including CDS market segments and market share, revenue, profit and return on investment for all the channels/categories of business and/or key customers. Responsible for managing and implementing marketing activities through research, strategic planning and implementation. Develops products by identifying potential products; conducting/consuming market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies.
Responsibilities include:
Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain CDS market information such as market segmentation, market needs and gaps, pricing sensitivities, regulatory environment, availability of funding, normal sales and distribution channels, and competitive landscape
Recommends the nature and scope of present and future CDS product variants and supporting products by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes
Assesses market competition by comparing Cyber and Electronic Warfare Systems (CEWS) CDS products to competitors' products
Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives
Obtains product market share by working with sales director to develop product sales strategies
Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results
Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term CDS product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests
Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting inventory levels and production schedules
Brings new CDS products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing
Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production
Determines CDS product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders
Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
Maintains CDS product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
Maintains CDS product management staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
