    Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Operations Specialist at the Integrated Support Facility.  The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



    This position will work as part of the Logistics and Production Control Team (LPC), under direction from the LPC team lead, and will provide support for configuration management activities associated with a manufacturing/repair facility for precision aerospace hardware.  Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:


    • Configuration Management Support for factory activities
    • Creation/Maintenance of technical data packages (Repair Plans, Vendor TDP, BOE)
    • Inventory Control Support
    • Data Transmission for configuration, performance, and hardware status
    • Preparation of Acceptance Packages for customer submittal
    • Impact analysis for changes in contract requirements documentation
    • Creation/Review of Quality History Packages
    • Master Part File Generation and Maintenance
    • Analysis of Factory Operating Systems and coordination between functions for continuous improvement
    • Coordinates and performs cross functional tasks in support of the operations/manufacturing organization
    • May prepare departmental reports, purchases, requests, and training and development plans and other data as required
    • May direct work and offer technical direction to lower level specialists and technicians
    • May support implementation of new manufacturing systems including generating supporting operational documentation under the direction of an engineer
    • May assist engineering in the evaluation of new manufacturing systems
    • Interfaces with engineering departments, quality control, manufacturing, purchasing or other groups as required in order to complete project plans
    • Requires only minimal supervision and technical assistance
    • Normally works under the guidance of an IPT Lead, senior engineer or project leader
    • May interface with external customers including DCMA


    • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; preferably in a function related to manufacturing, repair, or depot operations
    • Candidate must have strong communication skills, written and oral, and be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Requires the ability to plan, schedule and execute work
    • Requires multi-tasking abilities without losing focus to complete priority assignments
    • Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little direction
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Good ability to communicate and brief others on the team
