Bachelor's degree Administration of Justice, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field or the equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. We have an exciting opening for a Security Manager/Facility Security Officer in our San Jose location!
This position is responsible for implementing the industrial security program and ensuring company and customer security requirements are met. The successful candidate will interface with all levels of GDMS personnel and government management personnel to ensure contract security compliance with the National Industrial Security Operating Manual, DoD Manuals 5205.07, Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) and Program Classification Guides.
This candidate requires the ability to provide effective leadership, supervision, staff development/counseling. They will also be required to conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments and implement security measures to meet contractual security requirements.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Supervises the performance and operational efficiency of a segment of the security organization in the administration of the National Industrial Security Program and or proprietary security program
Selects, trains, assigns and assesses the performance of subordinate personnel
Consults on company programs and functional areas with management, employees and government representatives
Plans, prioritizes and schedules the activities and work assignments of the section staff
Oversees government security inspections and contract compliance audits for segment responsibility
Assures reconciliation procedures are formulated and implemented
Assists in the development and implementation of short-term security objectives and strategies including policy and procedure change recommendations
Designs and analyzes departmental security goals while ensuring contract regulatory conformance and protection of personnel and corporate assets
Adapts or modifies current security standards and methods as required
Initiates and assists in preparation of security proposals
Prepares department budget and controls financial performance in order to meet organizational and company financial goals/constraints
Provides security guidance to company personnel regarding areas of responsibility including policy interpretation and compliance
Conducts systematic reviews to assess current and consistent policy and procedure compliance and record maintenance
Encourages team building efforts and achieve team effectiveness
Supervises Security staff including Coordinators, Specialists, and Officers
