    Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    GDMS has an immediate opening for a Senior Program Manager.  The selected candidate will manage Surface Ship Platform Integration (SSPI) Integrated Combat Management Systems (ICMS) development and modernization programs. The Senior Program Manager will work among a talented and technically accomplished group of colleagues, and enjoy a flexible work environment where contributions are recognized and rewarded.


    The position will report to the Combat Systems Portfolio Lead within the SSPI Business Area Segment. 




    • Managing the ICMS program or set of programs in support of the SSPI business area;
    • Working closely with SSPI business area technical and management team to align business area capabilities, investments, and potential offerings for domestic and foreign intelligence markets;
    • Identifying opportunities and pursuit strategies for new combat systems capabilities, including enhancements to current contracts;
    • Establishing and maintaining relationships with the Naval Combat Systems Community;
    • Providing strategic leadership to ongoing programs and pursuits;
    • Leading program and technical teams through execution of multiple diverse combat systems projects through coordination with GDMS engineering staff, business development staff, and our strategic partners;
    • Fostering a team environment with program management, engineering and business development staff.



    • Demonstrated knowledge of products and technologies including current and potential applications
    • Demonstrated knowledge of target customer markets
    • Ability to generate cohesive program plans
    • Must be able to establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
    • Ability to develop and implement a product-oriented WBS and WBS Dictionary
    • Ability to track work accomplished to baseline plans and identify issues, track progress, and follow through on effective corrective actions based on data analysis and trends
    • Ability to understand and analyze program financial data
    • Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions on programs to internal and external representatives
    • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to evaluate quality of work product to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements
    • Demonstrated understanding of advanced of risk and opportunity management techniques and ability to apply them to programs
    • Demonstrated knowledge of business objectives proposal techniques, and business development for new business
    • Ability to lead teams in matrix organization
    • Ability to lead others in team building, conflict resolution, motivation, \
    • Ability to develop and execute proposal plans and strategies
    • Ability to apply advanced negotiation skills to solve internal, external and customer issues
    • Demonstrated understanding of business and supply chain strategy
    • Demonstrated knowledge of government contracting practices and regulations regarding acquisition
    • Outstanding relationship management and marketing skills
    • Ability to identify partnership candidates best suited to fill product/program gaps
    • Needs ability to execute company policies that affect immediate operations
    • Skilled in the development and implementation of product/program strategy and tactics Ability to manage/mentor others within program management discipline
    • Demonstrates proper negotiation of program/product line related decisions
    • Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to complete assignments normally result in serious delays and considerable expenditure of additional time, human resources, and funds
    • Will interact frequently with internal personnel and outside representatives at various levels
    • Working Knowledge of MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • May be required to travel
    • May be responsible for hire/fire decisions




    • Knowledge of system/software development life cycles, in particular system integration and test;
    • Program/Project Management task planning and scheduling via project management software tools (e.g., MS Project)
    • Program and portfolio management of naval combat systems programs/contracts exceeding $15M/year;
    • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience;
    • Proven communication skills (written and presentation) including experience in preparing and presenting program, financial, and technical status;
    • Willingness to travel worldwide to support programs and business growth.
