  • Basic Qualifications

    A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent experience is required. In addition, a minimum of 5
    years of Human Resources experience is required. A Master’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is
    preferred.

     

    Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    GPS Source, Inc.,  a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Mission Systems, is a world class innovator and manufacturer of high quality, high performance position, navigation and timing technologies for demanding defense and commercial markets. We currently have a need for an Advanced HR Advisor supporting our West Pueblo, Colorado location. Please note this position will eventually move to Colorado Springs this year.

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    • Implements and administers human resources programs, policies, and practices as a standalone resource
    or in a shared-services HR model
    • Provides hands on support and administration for a variety of functional areas, which may include:
    workforce planning, talent management and development (hi-potential and key successors) / training,
    performance management, employee relations, employee engagement (culture, recognition and
    retention), compensation and benefits, HR policies and procedures, equal employment and affirmative
    action and employment. May be involved in Labor Relations and Negotiations.
    • Provides support and guidance as a trusted advisor and resource to business leaders and employees;
    executing Human Resources programs, policies and procedures, processes, communication and
    initiatives.
    • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships and increase employee
    engagement and retention.
    • Responds to employee inquiries, questions and complaints; provides information, guidance and direction
    on HR programs, processes, and procedures to employees and managers
    • Tracks and compiles issue logs and complaints; provides feedback on HR policy and programs to area
    specialists and management
    • Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level for a variety of functional areas
    including employee relations, training, employment, relocation, labor relations, affirmative action and
    employment equity programs
    • Assists in the administration, development and implementation of department programs, policies and
    practices
    • Conducts employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing
    • Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as assigned by Human Resources
    Management
    • Conducts research and evaluates data in support of assigned goals and makes recommendation for
    corrective action and continuous improvement
    • Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent
    disciplines/fields
    • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies,
    procedures, laws, standards and government regulations
    • Responds to and counsels employees with work related issues and requests
    • Responds to and counsels employees with work related issues and requests including, but not limited to
    harassment allegations and civil rights complaints
    • Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations in order to ensure Company
    compliance
    • Travel may be required
    • May require a security clearance

    little direction

    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
