    Responsibilities for this Position

    The IT Workspace Support Technician performs a variety of duties in support of computer workstation devices. They respond to and diagnose problems and answers queries regarding computer hardware, software, network and telecommunications systems. Workspace Support Technicians maintain and update Remedy tickets and asset management records. They install computer hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives. Workspace Support Technicians also install and verify correct operation of software packages, such as operating system and desktop applications. They also provide training and technical assistance to users.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Performs a variety of duties in support of end-point computing devices, and peripherals
    • Responds to and diagnoses problems and answers queries regarding computer hardware, software, printers, network and telecommunications systems
    • Maintains and updates records and tracking databases
    • Installs hardware and peripheral components, such as computers, network/telecom, monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives
    • Loads and verifies correct operation of software packages, such as operating system, word processing and spreadsheet programs
    • Provides technical assistance to users
    • Responsible for configuring desktop and laptop, and thin client computers
    • May be responsible to monitor Infrastructure performance using monitoring tools
    • Assists in the installation, implementation, and upgrades of internal systems
    • May maintain a tracking system for usage evaluation
    • Maintains an inventory of all equipment, hardware, software and supplies
    • Troubleshoots, maintains, and monitors, external and internal hard drives, printers, plotters and scanners
    • Respond to customer support requests via the Remedy ticketing system, ensuring that requests are updated periodically and arecompleted per SLA targets

     

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Strictly adhere to all customer and company security policies / procedures
    • Perform move, add, changes of hardware, software and phones
    • Perform PC refresh including returning of leased assets and maintaining the asset inventory system
    • Respond to customer support requests via the Remedy ticketing system
