  • Basic Qualifications

    The successful LINUX Engineer (HACI) must have:

    • Hands on experience with UNIX/LINUX
    • Cisco router/switch experience
    • Microsoft Windows OS experience
    • Troubleshooting experience
    • Networking experience
    • Scripting experience
    • Customer service experience
    • Help Desk experience
    • Microsoft Office product experience
    • Excellent communications skills
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Data Center experience
    • Applicants must meet DoD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher and have the ability to obtain a CISSP within 90 days
    • Current/active CISSP is preferred
    • Must be able to travel up to 10%

    Education Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in a specialized area; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

     

    Clearance Requirements:

    This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Do you want to challenge your networking skills and experience by supporting multiple Communities of Interests?  If so, General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an exciting career opportunity for you as a LINUX Engineer (HACI) in our San Antonio, Texas location.  In this role you will be part of a team that is responsible for LINUX administration of a cross domain enterprise solution known as a High Assurance Controlled Interface (HACI).

     

    In this role you will be part of a team that is responsible for LINUX administration of a cross domain enterprise solution known as a High Assurance Controlled Interface (HACI).

     

    Your responsibilities include:

    • Red Hat LINUX command level administration
    • Trusted Network Environment (TNE) Pitbull command level administration
    • Command level troubleshooting of OS and associated hardware/software
    • Create and resolve helpdesk action items
    • Manage cross domain enterprise level solutions
    • Provide on-site technical solutions
    • Install, move, and or break-down systems
    • Troubleshoot Cisco products (router/switches)
    • Establish network capabilities
    • Create detailed technical reports and metrics
    • Provide detailed technical solutions
    • Perform system builds
    • Maintain the security and stability of cross domain solutions
    • Interact with customers
    • Create, modify, and remove user accounts
    • Perform Linux audit and reporting tasks
    • Command level troubleshooting skills
    • Provide fly-away support as needed
    • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, and 8 years of demonstrated results or equivalent experience.
