  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and is required plus a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree in engineering or a related technical field plus a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience.


    Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • In conjunction with Business Area and Engineering leadership, develop a strategic technical vision (problem space) and define detailed technical architectures (solution space) for the portfolio
    • Lead and coordinate strategic engineering activities across the portfolio
    • Shape program execution to be in alignment with strategic technical vision
    • Work with strategic engineering team to identify and drive innovative technical solutions
    • Work across the entire GDMS to identify capabilities and components that can create candidate technical solutions that exceed customer expectations
    • Engage customer to identify critical needs and requirements and shape technical solutions that favor GDMS
    • Engage program leadership (Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager Engineering - DPME, etc.) to shape and coordinate solution development across portfolio capabilities
    • Participate in Engineering Status Reviews as requested to ensure strategy is in alignment with solutions and identify potential challenges
    • As requested by program leadership, attend Program Management Reviews with the customer to ensure consistency of messaging and demonstrate high-level commitment to program success
    • Identify, coordinate, facilitate, and lead IRAD activities that further GDMS capabilities in support of future opportunities
    • Support messaging, demonstration development, etc. related to trade shows and external events
    • Provide general Engineering leadership across the portfolio as requested by Engineering Manager and Leadership
    • Produce technical solutions for new proposal activities (i.e. Blue Team and Green Team preparation)
    • Write RFP, RFI, White Paper content as requested, otherwise provide critical reviews of proposal solution activity through the GDMS capture process, to include Blue, Green, Pink, and Red team reviews
    • Coordinate technical design efforts across program areas to ensure consistent strategy for meeting customer needs
    • Communicate strategic technical vision with Business Area and Line of Business leadership to ensure consistency and alignment in GDMS technology directions and to secure necessary New Business Funds to support strategic activities
