  • Basic Qualifications

    Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of engineering technology.  Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a sophomore or higher.  


    Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position


    Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for an Engineering Intern to join our Littoral Combat Ship Infrastructure team. The position provides an opportunity to work on projects that support some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


    The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission.     • Able to support Integrated Product Team on a number of different tasks related to Littoral Combat Ship Infrastructure Software, Network and Hardware
    • Ability to think critically and creatively
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and effectively handle new assignments 
    • Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes tasking under the direction of a lead
    • Ability to learn and apply systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories
    • Proficient written and verbal communications skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment 

    The Selected Candidate will work closely with the LCS Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team, responsibilities may include:

    • Software package development, configuration and test
    • Configuration of Windows based systems
    • Configuration of LINUX based systems
    • Scripting using PowerShell
    • Test Procedure Development
    • Investigation and Review of Problem Reports
    • Administrative Support of the Infrastructure Integrated Product Team Lead
