    Responsibilities for this Position

    The GDMS Information Technology (IT) organization has an immediate opening for a Unified Communications (UC) CISCO VOIP and Telecommunications Specialist (entry level) to join our team. He/she will ensure normal business operations by monitoring the health of UC services, responding to incidents, attending to service requests. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems technologies. The CISCO VOIP Specialist will enhance their skill set among a talented and technically accomplished group of colleagues. The contractor will also enjoy a flexible work environment where contributions are recognized.


    This individual will participate in providing full system lifecycle planning, development, support and maintenance of CISCO VOIP and other telecommunications systems. 


    Key Responsibilities:

    Daily Monitoring and Maintenance

    Perform maintenance, application configuration and performance tuning, account management, software upgrades, and monitoring
    Assess and maintain SLA, System Availability, Capacity Management, and Performance KPIsImprove Service Performance, Capabilities, Interoperability, and Services
    Perform application / service health checks
    Analyze and triage defects/issues
    Plan and manage releases and migrations in different environments
    Monitor system alerts, system utilization thresholds, and capacity utilization on servers, etcProvide Support to Organization Functions and User Population
    Support the CISCO VOIP
    Providing advice, support, training, and assistance in the proper, efficient and effective use of the application
    Understand a broad range of customer’s requirements, expectations, and operational imperatives for their mission success, as well as translate those business drivers and needs into requirements and actions for continuous enrichment of the user’s experienceEnsure Compliance, Manage Risk, and Support Audit
    Monitor and enforce compliance of application configuration and operational practices to both regulatory requirements like Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and corporate policies like GDMS Information Security PoliciesCandidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of technological systems and solutions, and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology. This position requires a BS degree in Information Technology, Systems Administration or related discipline.

    Proven track record of being capable of working with significant uncertainty, resistance, barriers, issues, and challenges; converting uncertainty into quantifiable impact, risk, and mitigating actions
    Modest Business Travel May Be RequiredThe successful candidate should preferably be able to demonstrate:

    Qualifications (Preferred):

    Familiarity with CISCO VOIP infrastructure in a corporate environment. Including maintaining and setting voice configurations, policies, and routing over a complex WAN infrastructure (SIP, Media Gateways, H.323, PBX, QoS)
    Experience using monitoring and reporting tools to optimize and troubleshoot real-time VOIP systems
    Strong understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP subnetting, Trunking, routing, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, load balancers, etc.
    Experience integrating different telecommunication systems with Cisco VOIP including Skype for Business and various PBX solutions
    Knowledge of operating enterprise systems within virtual environments (VMWare and or Hyper-V) is a plus
    Experience in design and administration of Microsoft Windows Server environment, including but not limited to; Activity Directory Domains, Group Policy Objects, Web Services, DFS shares, Operating Systems, patches and hotfixes
    Experience working with Unity Messaging
