Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related discipline is required or equivalent experience.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Workspace Integration Specialist (entry level). This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems
Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems
Serves as a front line interface to users with technical issues
Makes recommendations for hardware and software purchases
Interacts with third-party technology vendors and internal database staff
Conducts systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies
Duties may include installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications and training users
The Server System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day support of Server services and Operating Systems
Monitors Physical and Virtual Workspace performance using monitoring tools
Executes necessary configurations to ensure compliance with back-up and disaster recovery policies and procedures
Supports Workspace related standards, policies, and procedures
Scripts software installers to meeting environment/project requirements.
Deploy sofware and follow up on deployment issues.

Work is closely managed. Follows specific, outlined, and detailed procedures

Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor and other exempt professionals in the group or department
Requires an understanding of Server and Workstation based operating systems
Understand concepts of software deployment tools and methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with non-technical and technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of individuals including technical and non-technical staff
Ability to work individually with supervision
Must have basic analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrates ability to learn and apply GDMS culture, policies and processes
Able to accept & integrate constructive feedback
Understanding of access, permissions and security that gives the clients the access to the data they need to perform their daily activities
