    Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


    Responsibilities for this Position


    General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a Manufacturing Technology CNC Machinist/Tool Maker Intern (Paid) to join us for the summer in our Scottsdale, AZ location. This is a great opportunity to utilize and grow the Manufacturing concepts you are developing while obtaining your degree in Manufacturing Technology in CNC Machine technology, Tool and Die machinist, or a related technical field.

    You’ll get to work side by side with new and experienced teammates, on various high reliability production hardware programs. Opportunities exist in the Model Shop CNC and Prototype areas where you can provide your talents in solving technical issues, improving efficiency, and devising solutions for our challenges to continuously improve our processes. 



    Among the skills the Manufacturing Technology CNC Machinist/Tool Maker Intern (Paid) develops and grows:

    • Works closely with and takes direction from design engineers and manufacturing personnel
    • Transforms information from prints, written instructions, sketches and oral instructions into finished working mechanisms
    • Sets up and operates precision machine equipment including CNC milling machines
    • Use precision measuring equipment
    • General knowledge of machine shop, tool room practices and shop practices
    • General knowledge of workability of ferrous, non-ferrous metals, plastics and other composite materials
    • Ability to use computer aided design tools(CAD)

This position will support program teams supporting the efforts
