    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking talented professionals to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers. GDMS is seeking to hire a Senior Configuration Management Associate for the Cullman, Alabama facility.

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

     

    • Establishes Configuration/Data Management policies and best practices
      • Implements and maintains an Engineering Change Notice (ECN) System, including product improvements, repairs, and new product development
    • Maintains functionality of the Cullman CM product within the Product Data Management tool (PDMLink)
    • Creates and verifies ECN’s have a complete data package (Purchase Orders, Drawings, Specifications, etc.) prior to release
    • Performs drawing quality check to ensure proper compliance to both industry and mil-spec standards prior to release
      • Coordinates the interaction between engineering, manufacturing, field operations, and program management to ensure appropriate changes are documented
      • Ensures the maintenance of product baselines
      • Works across organizations to coordinate processes where possible
      • Reviews non Configuration Management policies and templates to determine impacts to department
      • Creates training materials for employees inside and outside of the department
      • Trains all functional areas on Configuration Management and PDM processes
      • Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system
      • Provides direction and delegates work to lower level employees
      • Works as a lead to balance workload across team to meet critical program deadlines
      • Responsible for defining and the execution of control board hierarchy
      • Creates and approves program Configuration/Data Management Plans and contributes to the generating of program plans
      • Reviews and approves Subcontractor Statement of Work
      • Fully supports all tasks associated with both configuration and data management tasks
      • Analyzes data from a variety of standard reports
      • Support proposals by reviewing customer requirements and document/defining best practices, identifying data items, close out costs, labor hours, etc. for proposals to determine scope and cost
      • Approves proposal bids and supporting documentation submitted by CDM
      • Leads teams resolving program/company issues centered on Configuration Management
      • Interface with Co-workers within the department
      • Frequent contact with employees and management outside of the department
      • Frequent external contact

     

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

     

    • Fully proficient in the use of Product Data Management (PDM) applications (PTC Windchill)
    • Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards
      • Full knowledge of industry practices
      • Strong time management skills
      • Fully proficient in the use of all MS Office Suite applications
      • Fully proficient experience using Configuration Management Applications
      • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
      • Strong attention to detail
