Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Network LAN Specialist. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
A key contributor supporting the GDMS network environment such as routers, switches, circuits, firewalls, wireless, intrusion prevention devices, etc.
Implements/Supports/Monitors/Troubleshoots network issues being physical or virtual network infrastructure components and coordinates with team members and/or vendors
Participates as an active team member to be knowledgeable within the different elements of the networking environment
Independently identifies tasks or projects that need to be done and effectively prioritizes time to complete multiple assignments
Transforms basic designs into solutions that present low impact to business operations
Participates actively in contributing to the team and works with clients to develop and evaluate solutions by analyzing business needs and impact
Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons
Holds ownership by identifying alternatives in the midst of barriers to progress
Supports continuous improvement initiative
Participates in on-call rotation for after hours support
