Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a SSBN-R Fire Control TTF Installation Coordinator. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Provides technical guidance and recommendations on behalf of the TTFs to SSBN-R PMs, DPMEs, etc.
Supports customer meetings (DDTs, IRRs, etc)
Providing engineering analysis required to evaluate proposed deviations and waivers.
Providing technical support and coordination in all areas related to Fire Control System and related installation requirements.
Coordinating the installation schedule and facility interface requirements.
Providing reports of formal testing to ensure conformance with approved documentation and procedures.
Providing support and coordination for processing Action Information/Investigation Requests (AIIRs) to gain SP205 approval for non-training activities (such as engineering investigations and site testing) to be conducted in the Weapons Training Laboratories at the TTFs.
Participates in testing programs in accordance with the ITRO and approved test procedures.
Receives direction from supervisor on technical objectives of assignments
Demonstrates understanding of commitments and interdependencies
Makes judicious decisions to rectify all problems that arise during installation in order to avoid schedule delays.
Maintains an inventory of specific training system equipment, software, and material delivered on site.
Supports TTF Activities as part of the overall SSBN-R installation team
Potential for extended TTF Deployment supporting installation activities
Travel is required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong knowledge of the SSBN-R Program and/or Fire Control
Experience with SWS Training Programs
Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical and interface drawings.
Strong use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
Strong knowledge of other related disciplines.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
