Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI level security clearance is required at time of hire. General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Information Assurance Security Professional (ISSM). This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The candidate shall serve as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) supporting Restricted Security Programs administering the Information Assurance (IA) Cyber duties for government customers. Components of the IA program include Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities (i.e., documentation preparation, system configuration/validation, certification testing), security sustainment activities (i.e., hardware change management, software change management, account management, media protection, user interface, file transfers), conducting self-inspections, audit trail review, and delivering information systems security education and awareness. The candidate must be a self-starter capable of multitasking and efficiently managing their time in a dynamic environment while requiring minimal levels of supervision. Additionally, the candidate will possess effective written, speaking, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills that will assist them in identifying solutions to complex compliance and security problems. The ISSM will coordinate activities with the System Administrators and/or Information Technology (IT) staff to ensure all configuration requirements are implemented and functional.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Perform system security categorization, security control selection, assessments and performs continuous monitoring with little or no supervision
Executes or supports the execution of A&A activities, including development of required security documentation, including System Security Plan, Security Assessment Report, SCTM and POA&M in compliance with IA policy
Executes security testing and evaluation to ensure correct implementation of security controls
Perform weekly system audit reviews, media reviews, hardware/software configuration management
Perform IA self-inspections to measure regulatory compliance
Perform incident response and cleanup actions when necessary per company or customer directions Interface with internal/external customers to identify requirements and provide problem resolution
Assist the Facility Security Officer with compliance to the National Industrial Security Program
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must possess DoD 8570 IAM-II level certification IAM
Experience with national security information system related security requirements (e.g. ICD 503, CNSS 1253) to include computer/network system auditing
Experience developing System Security Plans (SSPs) and all supporting Assessment and Authorization documentation
This role requires a technical background creating POA&Ms, developing corrective action plans, and writing procedural documentation (not just reviewing or performing documentation review)
Strong background as a Systems Administrator in a Windows 10 and Server 2016 environment including OS support, DNS, Exchange, Patching, Vulnerability resolution,
Basic CISCO networking skills including switch management, Ensure backups are run per required schedules, Perform restores as needed
Ability to support Windows 10 computer workstations including operating system, applications, hardware and infrastructure
Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment with demanding deadlines, while meeting internal and external customer needs
Must be a self-starter capable of multitasking and efficiently managing their time in a dynamic environment while requiring minimal supervision
Effective writing, speaking, analytical, and customer service skills
Ability to lead security-working groups and work with cross-functional teams
PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of the NISPOM, ICD-503, NIST SP 800-53 and CNSSI 1253
DoD 8570 IAM-II level professional certification (i.e. CAP, CASP-CE, CISM, CISSP) or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
