  • Basic Qualifications

    Education Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

     

    Clearance Requirements:

    Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.  Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Security Engineer.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

     

    The Senior Systems Security Engineer will participate in NSA certified product development process including requirements, modeling and simulation, algorithm development, HW and SW trades, documentation and design reviews. This person will work with systems, software, hardware, FPGA and test teams through design, development, integration, and acceptance testing to ensure compliance with applicable security requirements.  The Senior Systems Security Engineer is the primary author of required deliverable security certification documentation. This person will also interface with internal and external customers and support proposal preparation and systems engineering cost estimation.

     

    Job responsibilities may include: 

    • Applies advanced principles of engineering and management to solve problems involving the development of complex technology
    • Oversees and manages design and development processes as they relate to the engineering of products utilizing engineering principles
    • Analysis of security requirements and  documentation of compliance
    • Utilizes computer technology to optimize all phases of work to include requirements management, modeling and simulation, risk analysis and formal trade study tools
    • May conduct research to identify leading edge and breakaway technologies
    • Collaborates with management across the company on research and development relevant to long-term objectives
    • Instrumental in establishing technology & process direction for the technical community
