Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Systems Administration, and/or related field or equivalent experience.

General Dynamice Mission Ssystems Information Technology (IT) organization has an immediate opening for a Unified Communications (UC) and Telecommunications Specialist to join our team. He/she will ensure normal business operations by monitoring the health of UC services, responding to incidents, attending to service requests. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to create and manage various General Dynamics Mission Systems technologies. This individual will participate in providing full system lifecycle planning, development, support and maintenance of telecommunications systems.
Daily Monitoring and Maintenance
Perform maintenance, application configuration and performance tuning, account management, software upgrades, and monitoring
Assess and maintain SLA, System Availability, Capacity Management, and Performance KPIsImprove Service Performance, Capabilities, Interoperability, and Services

Perform application / service health checks
Analyze and triage defects/issues
Plan and manage releases and migrations in different environments
Monitor system alerts, system utilization thresholds, and capacity utilization on servers, etcProvide Support to Organization Functions and User Population
Provide Support to Organization Functions and User Population
Perform telephone moves, adds and changes utilizing building cabling in MDF/IDF Wiring closets on patch panels. Troubleshoot cabling / wiring issues as needed to resolve issues.
Support the PBX and voicemail system, assist in expanding our SKYPE Enterprise Voice footprint
Providing advice, support, training, and assistance in the proper, efficient and effective use of the application
Understand a broad range of customer’s requirements, expectations, and operational imperatives for their mission success, as well as translate those business drivers and needs into requirements and actions for continuous enrichment of the user’s experienceEnsure Compliance, Manage Risk, and Support Audits

Monitor and enforce compliance of application configuration and operational practices to both regulatory requirements like Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and corporate policies like GDMS Information Security Policies
Knowledge of managing PBX systems
Knowledge of new technologies such as Skype for Business and Microsoft Unified Messaging
Knowledge in Remedy IT ticketing system
Ability to work individually or collaboratively as part of a high-performance work team
Strong interpersonal and communications skills
Skilled at clear and concise written and verbal communication
Intermediate level of proficiency requiring general supervision, able to perform everyday functions completely and independently, can develop and implement solutions for problems of minor complexity, shows initiative toward making changes/improvements and new assignments
Knowledge and experience in the ITIL service framework is a plus
Capable of obtaining security clearance if required.
Provide technical support to maintain the telecommunications infrastructure within the production environment by configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting
Works with customers to identify problems within the Unified Communications environment and collaborate with a more senior team members for solution
Provide technical support to maintain the telecommunications environment including adds, moves and changes along with DID inventories and cross connects to 66 and 110 blocks.
Familiar with an Octel voicemail system and able to perform password resets, set up and maintain user mailboxes
Ability to maintain documentation and accuracy of inventory for IT Assets
Experience working in a structured environment that requires change control processes in accordance with company policies, for execution of implementations and changes to the network environment
Participate in an on-call rotation.
