  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's of Science degree or Technology degree, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.


    Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is desirable at time of hire.  The selected candidate is required to obtain a Top Secret Clearance within 24 months of hire.  Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.



    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Product Support Training Lead.  This position will have a qualified candidate:


    • Working with the latest cutting-edge, government grade, Type I encryption and network security products.
    • Developing training materials for Government grade encryption and cross domain solutions. 
    • Participating in meetings with members of the user communities that support our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems to determine their requirements.
    • Delivering a prepared course of study on the latest Type 1 encryption and cross domain solutions at international and domestic locations.




    Reviews network system designs

    Troubleshoots networks and networked systems over the phone and on site

    Develops workarounds to overcome equipment limitations

    Reviews network architectures to determine and resolve inefficiencies

    Develop and deliver training to classes of 10 to 25 people or more

    Train and advise customers on the use and implementation of layer 3 and layer 2 encryption products and network monitoring equipment

    Train and advise customers on the proper use and deployment of cross domain solutions

    Maintain technical expertise through self study, in-house and external training in all areas of network and computer hardware and software

    Conduct testing of network systems by constructing proof of concept designs. 

    Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of encryption products

    Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots and provides technical skills during research and/or product development
    Establish work parameters for engineer(s) in support of training and troubleshooting efforts
    Maintains records, compiles reports, graphs, charts and related data in support of training and troubleshooting efforts
    Participates in discussions related to the identification of cause of problems/issues in the defined task or project assignment
    Regular communication with internal customers and external vendors


    Training development for hardware and software products

    Self starter

    VPN technology

    SNMP V3 management of network infrastructure.

    Windows, Linux, Unix, and VM operating systems

    Working knowledge of Routing and Switching technology

    Multicast IP Networking

    Detailed knowledge of IPV4 and working knowledge of IPV6.

    COMSEC storage and safeguarding practices

    Familiar with ITAR

    Ability to grasp oral and written direction quickly

    Security practices and procedures

    Oral presentation skills suitable for groups of 2 to 20 people.

    Good writing skills

    PowerPoint presentation development skills

    25 to 40% travel 

    The ability to work effectively with a team of outside the box thinkers to develop solutions that are imaginative, thorough, and practical

    Advanced decision-making skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
    Ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters that require coordination between organizations
    Ability to direct and monitor other employees


    Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience along with professional certifications is desired.
