  • Basic Qualifications


    What you bring to the table:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience;
      or a Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
    • Experience in detailed security analysis, design/development of security solutions, and security verification/validation at the system of system (SOS) level to meet
      mission needs and customer expectations
    • Proficiency in the use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories, with Agile experience preferred
    • Experience in the leadership of technical cybersecurity tasks for medium and large teams or projects, including supervision and mentoring of less-experienced engineers
    • Proficiency in effective selection of appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the development and
      implementation of cybersecurity engineering products and solutions


    One last thing:

    • An active Department of Defense Top Secret clearance is required at time of hire. Candidates must be able and willing to obtain an SCI within a reasonable amount of time after date of hire.
      An active TS/SCI clearance with current Polygraph at time of hire is highly desired. Applicants selected for the Senior Cybersecurity/Information Assurance Engineer position will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
    • An active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is highly desired. Candidates must be willing to obtain the CISSP within 6 months after date of hire.

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Cybersecurity/Information Assurance Engineering position to perform and provide leadership of system security requirements analysis/definition, system security architecture/design, and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) / Certification and Accreditation (C&A) activities.

    What sets you apart:

    • Experience in the application of cybersecurity technology and trends to the architecture and design of large systems, including assessment and mitigation of system threats and risks throughout the program life cycle
    • Experience in the implementation of cybersecurity specifications such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and other government security specifications/guidelines
    • Experience in frequent contact with senior program leadership, external customers, security professionals, and senior levels of security working groups
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills effective in reporting elements of cybersecurity engineering for large systems, including requirements, design, implementations, issues, impacts, and corrective actions
    • Problem-solving, creative thinking, and multi-tasking skills
    • Effective at handling complex assignments and ability to quickly grasp and apply new information
