  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

     

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
    Department of Defense security clearance is not required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer with background in radar signal processing.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    The Systems Engineer performs modeling and simulation, requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, trade studies, systems integration and test (verification).

    Additional responsibilities include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit, and risk analysis; selecting systems architecture; and preparing specifications for General Dynamics Mission Systems operating systems to ensure designs meet applicable specifications.

    The Systems Engineer may also:

    • Perform testing, verification, and validation of radar sensor and signal processing algorithm requirements and performance

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Systems Modeling (UML, SysML, or similar)
    • Model Driven Development using Rhapsody
    • Experience with DOORS or similar tools
    • Knowledge of radar performance analysis techniques.
    • Demonstration, Integration, and Verification planning
    • Integration and Test of Software and Hardware systems
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills

     

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Electronic Warfare (EW) experience
    • Working knowledge of radar exciters/receivers, scanned arrays, and radar sensing techniques
    • Hold active Secret Level DOD Clearance
    • Single and multi-processor/core environments

     

    PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES:

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent
