  • Basic Qualifications

    Associates Degree in a related field or the equivalent is required. In addition, a minimum of 3 years of directly related experience is required.
    J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required



    Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced Quality Technician.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



    • Determines requirement compliance of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic parts and materials through visual inspection, electrical or mechanical screening and physical measurements
    • Works directly with project engineering and QA to develop part testing and screening requirements
    • Writes programs for automated test systems
    • Reviews data including: supplier part data, final data packages, external screening results, etc
    • Assists in first article and first piece inspection (Mechanical Tech only)
    • Assists in part and material failure analysis
    • Performs open set-up mechanical inspections
    • Designs and fabricates simple mechanical test fixtures
    • Perform Receiving Inspection Activities With Verifying Applicable Requirements (Hardware, Certs, Traceability etc.)
    • Be Able To Multi-Task Between Differentiating Areas Of The Quality Inspection Department (CMM, QCR, FNL etc.)
    • Must be willing to cross train in multiple areas of inspection as needed including CMM operation, receiving inspection, in process and final inspection as required
    • This position is for 1st shift, but could be needed for a 2nd shift opportunity in the future


    • Solid knowledge of automated test equipment programming
    • Solid knowledge of geometric tolerance and dimensioning
    • Solid knowledge of metallurgy
    • Solid knowledge of military and industry test methods and standards
    • Skilled in operation of coordinate measuring machines
    • Skilled in general computer operation understanding (MS Word, Excel) and automated test system operation and parts handlers
    • Skilled in design and fabrication of simple mechanical test fixtures
    • Solid knowledge of safe handling of critical hardware
